Our house has a lot of wall space that has been screaming to be filled. As part of my efforts to make the house more homey and finished, I’ve been working on some smaller projects that add those nice touches to our rooms. Maybe we’ll get this house whipped into shape before we move! I recently found a set of those cool hexagon shelves and decided to create a happy little corner that coordinated with my Rustic Wooden Arrow Wall Art. These Easy Painted Hexagon Shelves are a fun addition to our bedroom and they help give it a homier look.
I grabbed paint in Colonial Blue, Desert Cactus, Bright Salmon, Chartreuse Yellow, and Glorious Gold for my shelves.
Paint the inside of the shelves each a different color.
I painted the outside of the shelves the same blue. This is also the base color of my arrow art and I wanted to pull the looks together.
The edges of the shelves are that awesome metallic gold.
Shelves need fun things to display! I grabbed a Heidi Swapp Marquee Arrow that I had found on clearance.
I used Victorian Blue and Glorious Gold paint, along with gold glitter and Crystal Glitter Decoupage to create an arrow that coordinated with my shelves.
I painted a small terra-cotta pot in Wedgwood Blue and Bright Brass for another shelf. I put a small styrofoam ball inside and placed those awesome fake succulent picks from FloraCraft inside.
I had a little clay owl that needed painting. A bit of Antique Bronze and my shelves were ready!
These Easy Painted Hexagon Shelves were a lot of fun to put together. It didn’t take long at all to paint everything and I’m super happy with how it all turned out.
I love how you see different combinations of colors depending on what angle you’re facing.
It’s fun to turn the marquee lights on, too! I’m really tickled with my little corner. It will be super easy to switch out my shelves if I want to, but I think they’re going to stay this way for a good while.
