Graveyard Button Hoop
Hoop art is a great way to create a fun piece out of scrappy leftovers and fun accessories. I tend to save everything that I feel is remotely useable and it almost always ends up getting used. This graveyard button hoop is one of those results. I had the ghost fabric sitting around for years (I’m sorry–I don’t know where it’s from) and it became the base for this fun hoop. The idea works the same for whatever you have laying around–just add these fun buttons and create your Halloween scene!

Supplies:
- 5″ hoop
- black paint
- paint brush
- fun Halloween fabric (I used a scrap of ghost fabric)
- 2-3 ribbons/trims
- Graveyard Novelty Buttons
- Mischief Night Sparkletz
- black buttons from Black & Orange Round Buttons from the Halloween BGM Box
- black thread
- needle
- Aleene’s Tacky Glue
Directions:
Paint the hoop black.
Place the fabric in the hoop once the paint is dry.
Stitch or glue trim and ribbon about 2/3 of the way up from the bottom. I used a fun black trim and then two strips of thin green ribbon underneath. (I added the green later in the pictures but I think it would be easier to do at this point.)
Sew or glue the gravestones, cat, and moon onto the fabric above the ribbon line.
Sew or glue the black buttons underneath the ribbons–it doesn’t need to be perfect.
Glue the Sparkletz throughout the top portion of the hoop.
Trim and finish the hoop in your favorite way. I like to trim and glue the fabric to the inside of the hoop and then cut out a piece of felt to fit inside.
Glue a strip of ribbon around the outside of the hoop. I used the same green ribbon as before.
I had a lot of fun making this graveyard button hoop. It felt good to use up some pieces that have been sitting in a drawer forever–I just wish I had a couple more gravestone buttons. I might go back and stitch a couple in–we’ll see!
