Easy Bat Wreath
Bats on bats on bats! I call this the grab all your Halloween crafting leftovers and throw it on a wreath. One of my daughters loves bats and wanted a wreath for her door, so I scrounged my supplies and came up with this. This easy bat wreath is a great kids’ craft and they’ll love hanging it on their bedroom door.

Supplies:
- 18 inch wire wreath form (If you make a lot of wreaths, this is a great deal)
- Bernat Alize Loopy Yarn- color smoke
- felt bats– (I got mine from Dollar Tree–these are similar but not felt)
- pre made bat bow– (I got mine from Michaels—this is similar)
- scissors
- hot glue gun/ glue sticks
Instructions:
Start by tying the end of the yarn around the outer ring of the wreath form. I did a double knot to make sure it was secure.
Wrap the yarn around the entire wreath form. I wrapped it fairly tightly to make sure that the wreath was full. At the end trim the rest off with the scissors.
The pre-made bow has a twist tie on the backside–use that to secure it to the wreath.
I wanted the bats to look more like they were flying so since the ones I used were a structured felt, I was able to fold the wing section to have it bend up a bit. If you’re using the linked Amazon bats, they already have that flying shape to them. Secure the bats to the wreath using hot glue.
Since this wreath is entirely made of soft material, it should only be indoors. I’m totally inconsistent in telling people this kind of thing, but I tend to assume anyone making my wreaths will know. Every once in a while, though, I get a complaint that someone’s yarn wreath was ruined because it got rained on and no one wants a soggy bat wreath.
This easy bat wreath is a lot of fun and the perfect kids’ craft this Halloween season!
