Easy No Sew Christmas Pillow

As much as I love stitching, sometimes my eyes or fingers don’t want to cooperate. Other times I’m just feeling plain lazy! Sometimes quick and easy is just what I need to feel like I’ve accomplished something without too much work and this easy no sew Christmas pillow fits the bill perfectly. The exact supplies I used for this craft came from Dollar Tree, but the supplies can obviously be switched out. All you need are a couple of fabric Christmas placemats that you want to “decorate”–the rest is just basic crafting supplies.

Supplies:

2 red truck fabric placemats (obviously you can use a different design)

hot glue gun/ glue sticks

mini pearls (these are similar)

mini silver bells (these are similar)

Poly Fil (you’ll need enough to stuff your pillow; alternatively you can use an actual old pillow or pillow form)

needle and yarn or thread if you prefer to sew (but we’re going the easy route!)

Instructions:

Lay the placemats so that the underneath sides are together (you should be able to see the red truck design on the front and back). Try to match the sides together as best you can..

Using the hot glue gun, glue down one side and press the placemats together firmly. I started with the right side, then the bottom section and then the left side. The order doesn’t matter as long as you glue three of the four sides.

On the last section, glue the edge halfway across. You want to make sure there’s enough of an opening so you can comfortably stuff the pillow later. If you’re using an actual pillow, either put the pillow in now and then glue, or wait until you’ve finished the decorations.

Decorate the trees on one side of the placemat. I did this by glueing the pearls and bells to them as if they were ornaments. Once you have decorated the front of the pillow, you can choose to decorate the back if you want. I opted not to because I wasn’t sure if the decorations would come off from rubbing against the chair.

Fill the pillow with the poly fil, making sure to get it in all of the corners. Then seal the open pillow section with some hot glue. Let it sit for a few minutes to dry.

This easy no sew Christmas pillow takes next to no time to make. It’s such a versatile craft–choose a fun placemat or piece of fabric. Mirror it on the backside or choose something completely different. Glue or sew–it’s up to you! Add some fun trim around the edge…the possibilities are endless!
