Light Up Joy Christmas Letters
I love twinkle lights (I may have mentioned this a time or a hundred) and I use them in a lot of my holiday crafting. It’s a lot of fun to see a project that I like in normal light really shine when it gets dark and the twinkle lights get turned on. These fun light up joy Christmas letters are like that–you can’t go wrong with green garland and red berries, but those lights add that extra holiday love.

Supplies:
- 2 candy cane wreath forms (mine came from Dollar Tree–these are similar)
- 1 round foam wreath form
- wire cutters
- fairy lights (I’ve used these lights in a lot of projects.)
- 3 packs of the garland from Dollar Tree (this is similar if your Dollar Tree doesn’t have farland)
- hot glue gun
- red berries for embellishments (these are similar)
Instructions:
To create the letter J, just flip over the candy cane wreath form. Start by wrapping a piece of the garland around the bottom wire of the wreath form to secure it and then wrapping it tightly around the outer section of the wreath form until you reach the end. Make sure to push the pieces together so you get a tight wrap around the wreath form. At the end, trim off any excess garland (I just went back over the wreath form to have a fuller look and wrap the end piece to secure it).
To create the letter O, take the end of your garland and start wrapping it tightly around the wreath form. Push the sections tightly together for a fuller look. Once the entire wreath form is covered, tuck the end of the garland under where you’ve already wrapped. You can glue the garland if you feel it needs to be more secure. Another option is using a straight pin and pinning the garland to the wreath form.
The Y can be a bit finicky. You will need to either use the wire cutter or bend the curved section of the candy cane wreath form back and forth. Some wreath forms are easier to break than others. To make the letter, place the curved section on the table to make the Y shape. Use the garland to wrap the pieces together, weaving the garland in between the wire sections to secure it. Finish by wrapping the entire letter tightly with the garland.
Take the fairy lights and wrap each letter. For further embellishment, glue some red berries onto each letter.
This set of light up joy Christmas letters is great decor for a mantel, shelf, or any surface that needs a little extra festive touch.
