I've been pretty proud of how well I've been using up every last bit of my craft supplies. There was a time that I would go to my craft room and be completely overwhelmed just by the sheer amount of things I had in there. It was hard to concentrate on a project because there was just so much stuff. Downsizing isn't everything and I struggle with not having easy access to what I want, but I am loving the challenge of coming up with ways to use up my scraps. This fun Scrap Fabric Embroidery Hoop ... Read More

Felt Heart Scissors Pouch
I don't know about you, but I don't think it's possible to have too many pairs of embroidery scissors. Since I often wander around with my stitching, I like to always have scissors easily accessible. It's extra nice to have my scissors in a pouch so that they don't accidentally rip through any of my work and are easy to find when I'm digging through a bag. I made this sweet Felt Heart Scissors Pouch to keep both me and my scissors happy as we're out and about. Supplies: felt (mine ... Read More
No Sew Necktie Hoop Art
When I was working on a Father's Day project for Craft Lightning this month, I actually couldn't decide what to post. I ended up making two fifteen minute crafts and while I can only share one as my "official" Craft Lightning post, I'm going to share my No Sew Necktie Hoop Art, too. I decided not to use this one as my main post because Scott isn't a necktie wearer. I have only seen him in one a handful of times during our entire time together. Neckties seem to go hand in hand with Father's Day, ... Read More
Halloween Inspired Lampshades
I'm trying to behave myself and decorate using items that I already have in the house. I've been working on emptying out closets and organizing my stash of craft supplies, and came across three random lampshades. I have no memory of purchasing them or seeing them before, but they were sitting nicely with some other long forgotten bits and pieces and I thought they would be the perfect addition to a boring corner of the living room. I raided my fabric and trim stash and created Halloween Inspired ... Read More
Easy Coffee Cozy Tutorial for Kids
As my girls are getting older, they're wanting to do more and more crafting. Madeline is especially interested in learning how to stitch. We're hitting hot chocolate season here, and she asked for a coffee cozy. I thought it would be great to come up with a way for her to make her own, and this is the result. This is a super simple cozy, and uses great basic skills for kids to learn. You will need: one piece of felt one piece of fabric (I cut into a fat quarter ... Read More
Living Room Wish List
We've been struggling with our living room, as you know. I've talked about it here before, and recently asked for help on Hometalk. I was give so much good advice that I started playing around with ideas. We want a cozy, comfortable, and happy room. We spend so much time in this room and it's just not what I want it to be right now. This is basically what it looks like now (with a few changes--the mantel is decorated for fall and the dollhouses aren't in the window anymore). I want to take ... Read More
