Grinch Loopy Yarn Wreath
The various Grinch movies are always on rotation in my house during the holidays. I know some people love them, others hate them, or some people have definite favorites. I’m an equal opportunity Grinch lover myself and sometimes it just depends on which version I come across first. I’m lucky that my kids like the movies as much as I do, which also means we can have fun Grinch decorations. This easy Grinch loopy yarn wreath is directly inspired by the book and movies and is a fun holiday decor addition. This one goes on Matilda’s bedroom door.

Supplies:
- Bernat Alize Blanket EZ in Green Machine
- 12″ styrofoam wreath form
- straight pins
- pre-cut red felt hearts
- red thread
- needle
- Poly-fil
- glue (my go-to is Aleene’s Tacky Glue)
- scissors

Directions:
Use a straight pin to secure one end of the yarn to the wreath form. Wrap the yarn around the wreath tightly until you get to the end. Make sure the loops are facing out and aren’t squished under each other. Cut off any excess yarn and secure with another straight pin.

Start stitching the two heart pieces together (I used a blanket stitch). Before you get the whole way around, stuff it with some Poly-fil and then finish closing it up. There’s obviously a variety of ways to do the heart, but I took the semi-easy route by buying pre-cut felt pieces. You could make it even easier by not stitching or stuffing the heart–I just wanted more of a 3D look and I already had the pre-cut hearts.

Glue the heart onto the wreath. I placed mine to the right of top center, but you can obviously place yours wherever you want.

And that, my friends, is your super easy Grinch loopy yarn wreath! I think it’s super cute. I don’t think anyone would question that the bright green yarn and red felt heart are inspired by the Grinch. It’s a fun wreath for old and young alike. I do need to mention that this is an indoor wreath only–it will get gross quickly if it’s left outside.
