Creepy Crawly Bug Wreath
You know how sometimes you pick up a seasonal crafting supply and then it just sits there for years and an international move? It’s not just me, right?? I grabbed this bug at a discount shop in New Zealand thinking it would be great for a Halloween project…and then I didn’t do anything with it. Until now! Yay! This creepy crawly bug wreath is a lot of fun for Halloween. Or whenever–I won’t judge and I’m in a mood.

Do you remember my easy moss wreath from a few weeks ago? This is the same (literally the same!) wreath, so I’m going to send you over there for the tutorial. Do everything except attach the bow.
Supplies:
- bugs! (While I can’t link you to the exact but I used, here are some options on Amazon. Alternatively, keep an eye out at craft stores and Dollar Tree for creepy crawly goodness.)
- black branches
- glitter Mod Podge
- black glitter (similar)
- paint brush
- wire cutters (I use these all the time!)
- glue
Instructions:
Paint the branches and bug(s) with the glitter Mod Podge. While it is still wet, sprinkle the black glitter on. Let it dry. Put another coat of Mod Podge on top if you feel it is necessary. I didn’t go for full coverage on either–I wanted that sparkle I love and to take away from the full on plastic look.
When everything is dry, clip off the individual branches of the stem.
Glue the bugs onto the wreath. While the glue is drying, place the branches where you’d like them. I just tucked them into the wreath, but you can glue them if you feel it will be more secure.
I love how my creepy crawly bug wreath turned out. It was a lot of fun to be able to reuse a wreath and turn it into a totally different look, too. Now this is the kind of bug I like!
