Easy Halloween Poison Bottle Wreath

I love wandering stores without any real reason other than seeing what seasonal inspiration they have. This can be good and bad! Halloween and Christmas are my weak spots and I’m notorious in my family for getting random bits and pieces, like rat poison plaques. This easy Halloween poison bottle wreath was mostly made with items from Dollar Tree and I kinda love it. You can’t go wrong with that classic black and white stripe and the added pop of purple poison (and lights!) is awesome for spooky season.

Supplies:

  • 18 inch wreath form (I got mine from Dollar Tree–this is similar) You can use a smaller wreath but this size looked better to me when I laid it out with the wooden potion bottle on it.
  • black and white loop yarn (I like to use the Bernat Alize–use a coupon!)
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • Dollar Tree wooden potions bottle
  • Dollar Tree purple and black flowers with eye balls
  • fairy lights (I got mine in purple from Dollar Tree and used 2 packs)

Instructions:

Tie the end of the yarn around the outer ring of the wire wreath form. I did a double knot to secure it.

Wrap the yarn around the entire wreath form. If you want a fuller look push the strands closer together when you are wrapping it. If you are using the 18 inch wreath form it will use the entire skein of yarn. Tie off the end of the yarn.

Play around with how you would like the flowers and the wooden potion bottle placed. I added a lot of hot glue where the potion bottle would touch the yarn and then pressed it firmly onto the wreath form to secure it.

I then just popped the flowers off of the stems, added hot glue to the bottom of the flowers and then pressed them firmly onto the wreath form. Add in some of the leaves and other items that were on the stems to fill it out.

To add that little bit extra, wrap the fairy lights around the wreath. Tuck the battery pack through to the back.

I love how this poison bottle wreath turned out. It’s easy and fairly cheap to make and the lights create a fun addition to your Halloween decorating. And if you need an excuse to buy flowers with eyes, I’ve got you covered!
