Miniature Felt Heart Ornaments
I’m embracing a cheerful winter so I’m planning on keeping some of my faux greenery and twinkle lights up until I get tired of them (not likely any time soon!). I had hung some small Christmas ornaments on this tree behind my desk but decided it needed some Valentine’s fun. These cute miniature felt heart ornaments were exactly what I was after–they’re super versatile, fun to make, and I love the cheerful pop of color.

Supplies:
- felt in Valentine’s colors (I used colors from the XOXO Palette curated by Benzie Design)
- Sizzix machine (I used the Big Shot Plus)
- Heartfelt die by Tim Holtz (66023)
- Valentine Value Pack from BGM Box
- thread (I used DMC Etoile C816)
- needle
- scissors
- Polyfil
Instructions:
Cut out the felt hearts in different colors.
Layer the hearts in different colors and choose a button to go on top.
Starting with the button and smallest heart, stitch the heart together. Use whatever stitches you prefer.
When you get to the biggest sized heart, start stitching a second heart of the same size to it. Roughly halfway through, place a small amount of fluff inside. Finish stitching the heart closed.
Stitch a loop through the heart for hanging, tying it tightly and trimming the excess thread as close to the knot as possible.
These miniature felt heart ornaments are a cute and relaxing craft. If you don’t want ornaments, you can stitch a pin back on them and make each heart into a brooch. You could also put a few bits of dried lavender inside the hearts and use them as decorative ornies. I hung them as ornaments in my office because I’m still loving my twinkling greenery.
