Create a Cozy Christmas with a Sparse Tree
When I was growing up, we cut down our own Christmas tree most years. We would spend ages tramping around the tree farm looking for the perfect tree and, as you can imagine, rarely did we all agree. Each year I would choose a sparse tree and each year I was overruled. My desire for a sparse tree has remained consistent through my adulthood and I finally (finally!) got the tree I’ve been dreaming of forever. Follow along as I create a cozy Christmas with a sparse tree.

I wanted a sparse tree that wasn’t too big, had lovely spaces between branches, and was unlit. King of Christmas came along with absolute perfection–the 7′ King Noble Fir. This tree is offered in pre-lit and unlit options and I went for unlit. While I love the ease of pre-lit trees, I wanted something I could change up completely with this one. And, to be honest, I love stringing lights. It’s part of the Christmas decorating tradition to me.
The tree arrived in a solid box and took me just a few minutes from opening to having the tree up. It even came with tree fluffing gloves (how awesome is that?!) and a storage bag. We all know how frustrating it can be to store artificial trees and they have made it as easy as possible.
How to Decorate a Sparse Tree
I so thoroughly enjoyed creating my cozy Christmas tree. I can’t get over how relaxing it was to crochet bauble covers and decoupage ornaments. Ornament by ornament, I decorated. Panel by panel I put together a tree skirt.
I changed my mind on how to decorate a sparse tree multiple times while I was actually doing it. In the end, I decided on simple.
I love the different textures of crocheted yarn and wood bead garland. I love how the colors in all the baubles mingle together.
What I love most, though, is how easy this tree is to decorate. I’m already imagining different lights and ornaments with different amounts of both. It’s an amazingly customizable tree and I’m not locked into one style of decorating with it. It is so easy to create a cozy Christmas with a sparse tree and I am so tickled that I get to enjoy this one.
