Easy Upcycled Glass Bottle
I have so many bottles and jars stashed around my house. I’m always thinking that I’ll have a use for them eventually–and I always do. The latest BGM Box from Buttons Galore and More had some really pretty gems in it and I really wanted to use them in a craft–enter my stash of bottles. The gems are so pretty when they sparkle in the light and are the perfect way to make an easy upcycled glass bottle.

Supplies:
- glass bottle/jar (I have a ton collecting dust–look around your house or check out a local thrift store. Keep in mind you don’t want one that is too big unless you change up the design.)
- Mod Podge
- BGM box
- paint brush
- tweezers (optional)
- coordinating yarn (mine is from my stash from an out of business yarn shop–grab some from your stash if you have one or choose something pretty from a craft store)
Instructions:
Paint the lower section of the bottle/jar with Mod Podge. Wrap the painted area in your chosen yarn. You may have to touch up the Mod Podge if it starts to dry before you’re finished wrapping.
Paint a small strip of Mod Podge. Place the exclusive gems from the BGM box above the yarn. I chose to place them in random order, but they could be in a pattern. It might make it easier to place the gems with tweezers, but I found that I preferred just using my fingers, even if it did mean I got a bit messy.
Keep working your way up the bottle with Mod Podge and gems. It’s easy if a bit slow–put on an audiobook to listen to! When you’ve finished, let the bottle dry. Clean up any messy clear bits you may have–a bit of soap and water will do the trick.
This easy upcycled glass bottle is gorgeous as the light hits it. It’s perfect decor for a windowsill or table. I put some cheerful fake flowers in mine, but real flowers would be even lovelier.
