Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Hoop Art

Once December hits, Christmas movies are played on repeat in our house. All Christmas, all the time. A Charlie Brown Christmas makes the rotation on a (very) regular basis. The plot of searching for the meaning of Christmas is still relevant today and who can forget that Christmas tree?? The movie is a Christmas classic and I wanted to make something special for it. My Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Hoop Art is a fun piece to stitch up and you don’t need any crazy embroidery skills.

Supplies:

• linen
• embroidery hoop
• brown thread
• green thread
• grey thread
• sewing needle
• Cricut Explore Air 2
• Thermoweb Deco Foil in Red
• Thermoweb Foam Adhesive

I did a free hand sketch of my tree, but if you aren’t comfortable with that, do a search for images of the Charlie Brown tree and trace it from your computer.

I stitched the outline of the tree first.

Fill in the tree with an easy satin stitch–just stitch from side to side until the tree is full.

Start stitching on the pine needles. The tree is super straggly, so just a few here and there will do the trick!

I added a strand of lighter green to some of the pine needles.

I cut out a quick ornament with my Cricut on Foam Adhesive.

Once it is cut, stick it onto the hoop and remove the top paper.

Rub on the Deco Foil for a super shiny ornament.

I have to say, making this Charlie Brown Christmas Tree Hoop Art had me smiling nonstop. It was a fun stitch and  has me extra excited for Christmas.

I just love the stitched tree coupled with the shiny ornament!

I have the feeling that this hoop will become part of our Christmas decor for many years to come.
