Easy Fall Basket Display
I’ve been trying to use up the random bits of craft supplies that I have cluttering up my office (is it clutter if it’s crafty??). I have so many things that I’m pretty sure I bought for specific projects that I’ve since forgotten about. It can be fun to come up with ways to use the supplies I’ve found and one of the results is this easy fall basket display.
Supplies:
- basket (Mine is a hanging basket that I got from Michaels. Keep an eye out for baskets you like–I’ve even seen this style in the Target Dollar Spot! Thrift stores often have them, too.)
- fall floral assortment (mine came from Dollar Tree–I used pampas grass, different pumpkins with a “natural” look, tan eucalyptus, and tan colored fall leaves. Again, this can be in different colors and styles–the idea is to put together those small extras you have and making something cute!)
- hot glue gun
- wire cutters (optional)
Instructions:
Begin by playing around with the items to see how you’d like them arranged. Don’t glue anything until you’re happy with the look.
I wanted to have the pampas grass in the background as it fills up the space and adds some color. Try using taller pieces for the back layer. Add some hot glue to the stem of the pampas grass (or whatever your back layer is) and press it firmly to the inside of the basket. I bent the pampas grass a little so it would fit better.
Repeat that process with the next layers–in my case the tan colored fall leaves and the tan colored eucalyptus. I used wire cutters to separate these from the main stem as I didn’t need that many. Feel free to manipulate stems if they’re not to your liking!
The pumpkins went onto the front of my arrangement.. I opted to use natural looking pumpkins that were tannish in color and added them to the basket with a good amount of hot glue so they would stick.
Stack them to add some texture and dimension. Fill in spaces with any remaining stems you have.
I hope you can see the many options for putting together this type of easy fall basket display. Use any color or theme you want and attach it to a flat-style basket and you have a quick and easy piece of decor!
It works great for a bigger seasonal display, too. This easy loopy yarn pumpkin looks great with it!
