Yarn Wrapped Snowman Mason Jar
I love snowmen in my Christmas and winter decorating. They’re so fun and can work well beyond Christmas. You guys know that I’m such a fan of yarn wrapping all the things, so it was an easy idea to make a Yarn Wrapped Snowman Mason Jar for this month’s Craft Lightning. As you know, the idea is to make a craft in fifteen minutes or less, minus drying time. This craft fits the bill!
You will need:
- small mason jar
- decoupage
- white yarn
- red felt
- black buttons
- brush
- scissors
- a smile
Paint the mason jar with the decoupage. A thin layer will do it!
Start wrapping the jar with the white yarn. I started under the lip of the jar at the top and worked my way down. Just twirl and wrap and it goes very quickly.
Cut a long strip out of the felt. Cut fringe into the ends.
Paint some more decoupage around the top and wrap the scarf.
Take three black buttons, put decoupage on the back, and stick them on the front of your snowman.
There you go! The drying time of the decoupage may take you slightly over the fifteen minutes, but it won’t be by much. I chose to use my Yarn Wrapped Snowman Mason Jar as a tea light holder. I just put some scatter inside and added a battery operated tea light. It’s a great decoration that I will use all Christmas and winter!
