Fall Front Door Decor

September 24, 2014 by Albion

If it could just stay fall all the time, I’d be quite content. Every year around the beginning of August, I start eyeing our fall decor. Scott lets me get away with a lot, but the idea of putting out our decorations in August gets a very firm no from him. This year, though, I managed to start putting out some decorations at the beginning of the school year at the end of August because we were cleaning the garage and it just cluttered it up. It did. Really.

I love the colors of fall–the oranges and golds, browns and reds. Give me all the pumpkins and pinecones!

Our front area changes regularly. I am constantly adding more to it. In October, I’ll start adding some Halloween elements to it. Pumpkins will continue making appearances until Thanksgiving.

I wanted to share a quick DIY for the gold pumpkin and pinecones in the corner. I had a foam pumpkin in my stash that I got on clearance at the end of the season last year. It wasn’t the nicest color and had a few nicks in it. I sawed off the top, spray painted the bottom gold, and filled it with pinecones that I had lightly sprayed with the gold. It brings a nice little added element.

What is your favorite way to decorate your front porch for fall? Do you use the same things every year or change it up?
