Seashell and Sequin Summer Picture Frame

I don’t know many people who go to the beach and *don’t* pick up seashells. Kid or adult, seashells always seem to make their way back to the house. This seashell and sequin summer picture frame was inspired by summer vacations at the beach. Seashells and board games and summer crafting…is there anything better?

Supplies:

Side note: I imagined this craft with seashells from the beach and Scrabble letters from a game that was already missing pieces. I didn’t have either of those, so I included links to what I bought. Either way, it’s a fun craft for adults or kids and you can see how easy it would be to customize it!

Directions:

Paint the frame white.

Paint the edges of the scrabble pieces gold.

Brush over the frame with the Mod Podge. Attach the Scrabble letters to the top. If the Mod Podge doesn’t feel secure enough, use a drop of glue on each piece. I ended up needing to do this.

Section by section, use Mod Podge to attach the Sequinz and seashells to the frame. I did a combination of seashells and Sequinz on the right and bottom sides and just Sequinz on the left and around the letters. Keep going until you have the kind of coverage you want.

Paint over the letters with Mod Podge. This isn’t strictly necessary, but I wanted the hint of glitter.

Print out your favorite summer picture and display it in your new summer frame! Mine is from La Parguera in Puerto Rico, where I spent a gorgeous day with Caribbean Chiliboats. I had never done anything like it before and is a favorite memory–even if I did end up with a sunburn to beat all sunburns (always top up that sunscreen, my friends!).

Summer crafting isn’t my strong suit, but I’m in love with my seashell and sequin summer picture frame.
