Easy Halloween Candles
I may or may not have started pulling out Halloween decorations in August. I started with the less obvious ones–you know, the ones Scott can glance at and not be totally sure whether it’s seasonally appropriate or not. For this round of Craft Lightning, we’re making Halloween crafts that take 15 minutes or less (not including drying time) and my Easy Halloween Candles hit that perfect mark of being a Halloween decoration that can be put out early without anyone questioning it.
For this craft, I grabbed a small white dish and two purple candles I had bought from IKEA ages ago. I also pulled out some Gorjuss paper and bows I had bought in a Blitsy sale, along with some Decoupage, a foam brush, straight pins, and some fringe ribbon.
I spread some Decoupage onto the dish and placed a sheet of paper. I chose a black and white stripe.
I trimmed the excess paper and did a quick top coat of Decoupage. I then attached the fringe ribbon to the outside of the dish with yet more Decoupage.
The candles themselves were the easiest part. I wrapped each candle in more of the fringe ribbon and stuck a bow to it with a straight pin. The straight pin attaches both the ribbon and bow to the candle.
Because I’m me, I added some black glitter to my dish at the last minute. I love the black, white, and purple combination for Halloween, but my easy Halloween candles can totally hold their own outside of the holiday. I love the ease of using the straight pins for attaching the ribbon and bows to the candles. Imagine the possibilities! And I’m not going to lecture you on candle safety–use common sense if you make these and burn them, please.

Great idea! Thanks for joining!
