Spring Flower Wreath
I love being pushed to craft with new to me materials. I’ll be honest with you–I’ve never been a big fan of burlap and have barely used it in my crafting and decorating. When it was announced that the supply for the Create with Cricut challenge in March was burlap, I cringed a little inside. But, once I figured out how to fit burlap into my style, I can see why people are drawn to it. The burlap gives a lovely extra layer of texture to my Spring Flower Wreath and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Supplies:
- Cricut Maker
- grapevine wreath (mine is 12″)
- hessian burlap fabric
- assorted floral fabric
- assorted felt
- Spring Flower Wreath file
- glue
- needle
- thread
- felt balls
- buttons
Cut out your shapes. There are three layers to each shape–the flowers have felt on the bottom, burlap in the middle, and fabric on top. The leaves have felt on the bottom and top and burlap in the middle. The light peach color is the burlap (the middle layer in each shape). The felt and fabric for the flowers are all different colors (at least that’s what I did–you can change them to being the same if you want!).
Layer the shapes for assembling.
For the flowers, sew a button in the middle. I did a simple stitch around the outside of the fabric piece, going through all the layers. For the leaves, I stitched simple veins to attach the pieces.
I used glue to assemble the majority of the wreath. Place the flowers and leaves how you want them and glue them down. String up your felt balls and tie them on either side of the wreath.
This Spring Flower Wreath is a pretty way to welcome warmer weather and the different layers and textures make it work for any style. I’m really happy that I was pushed into trying burlap and I can see it featuring in future crafts.

This is such a cute idea. I have never seen a wreath with these types of cutouts. Very clever.
Thank you! It was a lot of fun to make. 🙂
This is such a unique idea and different than everything else I’ve seen out there.
Thank you!
This looks like something I would make with my nieces for Easter
It would be fun for everyone to make the flowers! My daughters want to make one together.
Love how you fit in the burlap – definitely a different take on it, and it’s gorgeous!
