Cranberry Mule Cocktail

I can’t get enough cranberry everything during the holidays–if something has cranberries in it, I have to have it. I’m not sure why I associate cranberries with the holidays as much as I do–maybe because that’s the only time I had my beloved cranberry sauce when I was growing up. At any rate, I fully embrace my cranberry love and this cranberry mule cocktail is another favorite way to enjoy it. Garnish it with those extra cranberries I know you have hanging around and curl up with your favorite Christmas movie by the tree. Ahhhhh!

This recipe is for a single serving, so adjust accordingly if you’re making a bigger batch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 cup ginger beer
  • fresh cranberries and lime wedges as garnishes

Instructions:

Fill your glass or mug with ice. Add the vodka, lime juice, and cranberry juice to the glass. Stir lightly to combine. Top the drink with the ginger beer. Stir again and garnish. (You can always adjust amounts of the ingredients–this drink can be completely customized to your own tastes. It’s all about the cranberry/ginger beer balance for me and the vodka is just an extra bit of oomph.)
This cranberry mule cocktail is such an easy and pretty drink to make and I always have these ingredients around during the holidays. The fizziness of the ginger beer adds a festive “sparkle” and it’s a very sippable drink–you can take your time enjoying one.
