Dining Room Progress

August 11, 2014 by Albion

It’s been a while since I’ve shown you any dining room progress. You’ve seen peeks if you follow me on Instagram, but here’s an actual reveal. I know. Really.

Updated Dining Room

So, do you remember when we started on this long and failure-prone journey? You can read all about our decorating slump, light fixture and stripes, our giant fail, and our decision to remove the wallpaper. We’ve come a long way. Here are a couple of “before” pictures…

I’ll tell you straight up that it was scary painting that first coat of dark grey. It took four coats before we were happy with the coverage. But, boy, are we happy. The white trim with the stripes and the dark grey…we finally got it right.

We’re still playing around in here, so I’m not going to call this a full reveal or a finished room yet, but it’s certainly a whole lot closer than it was!  I was so excited that I wiped down the chairs and took the pictures before they were dry. Oops!

I’ll be playing around with pictures in different light, as well. The paint color, especially in the stripes, is very different depending on the time of day and which lights are on. I’m trying to talk Scott into letting me paint one of the buffets. He hasn’t agreed to it yet, but I’m still hopeful. 😉

So, what do you think so far?!
